Seasonal Exhibition of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Autumn
The long history of Kamakura began with Minamoto no Yoritomo, and was followed by the shoguns and great writers who left their mark on the city during the medieval period. In order to pass on this story to the next generation, the museum introduces the history and culture of Kamakura as well as the rich nature that has been preserved and nurtured to this day, and serves as a base for information dissemination to visitors to the respective shrines, temples, historical sites, and cultural facilities.
The "Seasonal Exhibition of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Autumn" will display works of art and important cultural properties associated with important autumnal events. We hope that visitors will enjoy the autumn season of Japanese art.
In addition, we would like to introduce the major festivals held at Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine from autumn to the first day of winter, in the hope that they will become more familiar to visitors. We will also display ritual implements used in the festivals, which are usually not available for visitors to see up close.
